    Safer Internet Day Organized by the National Informatics Centre in Madhya Pradesh

    On the occasion of Safer Internet Day, awareness programs were organized in various institutions across all districts of Madhya Pradesh by the district administration and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Madhya Pradesh.

    On this occasion, a program was organized at the State Unit of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Guest, Commissioner, Directorate of Technical Education, Shri Avadhesh Sharma, and the State Informatics Officer, Shri Kamlesh Joshi, presided over the event, in which all members of the State Unit participated. Additionally, teachers and students from government/government-autonomous engineering and polytechnic colleges across the state participated through virtual mode (VC).

    This year’s theme was determined as AI and Emerging Cyber Risks. Speakers discussed making users aware of safe internet usage, promoting best practices for cyber hygiene, educating users about major cyber threats and mitigation techniques, and encouraging responsible use of the internet among citizens. Participants were also informed about AI-enabled frauds, deepfakes used to deceive users, voice cloning, personalized messages, and automation. The growing misuse of AI has created serious challenges for safe and responsible digital usage, making awareness and cyber hygiene essential.
